Serving Others Forward Together (SOFT) is a fun, interactive, and easy-to-do strategy for each of us to put our faith into action, while enjoying the many personal benefits of giving. Simply put, friends will invite friends to join them in small groups, called tribes, of 6 to 10 people. The members of the tribe will have fun and enhance their relationships; support, collaborate, and encourage each other to individually serve another; while recognizing and accepting that person as a unique person.
This engagement process of committed serving and personal connection is mutually rewarding, and transformative in our daily lives, helping all of us to become better mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, friends and coworkers.
Additionally, people will be inspired to ‘serve others forward’ – probably not in the same manner as received, but using their own particular gifts and talents for someone in need.
Initially structured with Catholic members in mind, SOFT will NOT be exclusive, and in fact,
members are encouraged to invite non-practicing Catholics, and others, to be involved – to live their faith, and see the words of Jesus in action through deeds.
This strategy is just not for the economically poor; it is relevant to family members, neighbors, coworkers, and strangers – we all need someone, sometime.
Hopefully the fun and rewarding experience will entice members to use their social media resources to spread the passion and awareness of our movement - helping us to connect with each other, and follow Jesus’ command to love and serve our neighbor.
